Communications Work

Since 1993, I've been producing communications materials for the health care industry, advertising and public relations agencies, the government, the education system, businesses and magazines. I've written and edited newsletters, website text, brochures, fact sheets and policy reports for dozens of clients across the country.

From January to October of 2004, I worked as a freelance consultant in the corporate communications department of Capital Health, Nova Scotia's largest health care district with 10,000 employees. There, I was the writer/editor of a weekly internal electronic newsletter and produced various other communications materials.

Since then I have provided communications consulting services to several Capital Health departments, including producing a newsletter and magazine called Capital Calling and editing AGM reports and award submissions.

Some of the diverse materials I've helped prepare include:

Point Pleasant Park reforestation master plan
Halifax Regional Water Commission source water protection plan
Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans scientific experts' report
• ACOA proposal for Halifax Seaport Farmers' Market
• AGM reports for Halifax Regional Water Commission
• Nurse profiles for the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
